Weekly Update: 28 Jan 2010
The rather wonderful news this week is that we have managed to hit our target for our ventilation fundraising campaign. Over to our Development Director Caroline Green for the latest…
In July 2009 we launched a fundraising campaign towards much-needed ventilation in the Tobacco Factory Theatre’s auditorium Having taken the plunge and secured an interest-free loan to enable the installation to go ahead, we went out with a request for help to allow us to repay that loan.
Our target was to raise £25,000 by the end of 2009.
The response was tremendous and we are absolutely delighted to announce that the combined support of our Fans, audience members, trusts and foundations means we have achieved our target and raised the full £25,000!
We would like to thank all the donors to the appeal once again. And we’re delighted to credit their support, both on our website and on the appeal wall in our foyer.

Count down to Andrew Hilton’s second Dream…
At an informal gathering at Bristol’s City Inn hotel last week Shakespeare at the Tobacco Factory’s Andrew Hilton said that he was ‘discovering things he’d never thought before’ about A Midsummer Night’s Dream and that he was looking forward to a ‘very funny and very moving’ production.
Special guest Stephanie Cole, who supported SATTF when it was first set up, described the company as having been a beacon through what have been a difficult few years for theatre in Bristol. She praised what she called the ‘extraordinary quality’ of the company’s work, saying that it was an inspiration to Bristolians.
There was a great atmosphere at the event and genuine excitement about the forthcoming season. For more inside info and pics from the media launch, click here.
